Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Joybox Labs ("we", "us") handles information across joyboxlabs.com and our games, including the solo games and party rooms on our subdomains (together, the "Sites"). We keep data collection to a minimum: you do not need an account to play.

Information we collect

• On-device game data. Solo games generally save progress, stats, streaks, settings, and earned cosmetics in your browser storage. A cookie can share supported appearance preferences between Joybox subdomains. Clearing site data or changing devices can remove locally saved progress.
• Leaderboard data (optional). When a leaderboard is enabled and you submit a result, the relevant game can send your chosen display initials, result, and a generated device identifier to our Supabase database. Online features are unavailable when their backends are not configured.
• Party rooms. To host or join, we process a room code, player names, game choices, scores, and game submissions such as clues, stories, votes, drawings, and captions. Cloudflare stores room state while a room is active; players in the room may see submissions as the game reveals them. Rooms expire after six hours, and their stored state is scheduled for deletion at expiry.
• Feedback. If in-page feedback is configured and you submit it, we receive your message, its category, and any reply email you choose to add. Otherwise, the site offers an email draft that you must send yourself.
• Optional account. Supported games may offer email sign-in through Supabase for limited account features. It does not back up all games or provide verified purchase restoration. No account is needed to play.
• Purchases. New real-money purchases and checkout are currently unavailable. Earned currency and cosmetics are game progress, not proof of payment.
• Advertising & technical data. Our advertising partner (Google) and our hosting provider (Cloudflare) may automatically receive technical information such as your IP address, device/browser type, and cookie identifiers, as described below.

Cookies and advertising

Some pages may load Google AdSense to show ads. When ads run, third-party vendors, including Google, may use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to our Sites or other websites.

• Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to our Sites and/or other sites on the Internet.
• You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings.
• You can also opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalized advertising at aboutads.info/choices.

We also use localStorage (browser storage) to save supported game progress, settings and preferences on your device.

How we use information

We use the information above to run games and party rooms, save supported progress, operate configured leaderboards and feedback, show ads where enabled, and keep the Sites working and secure. We do not sell your personal information.

Your choices

• Use the advertising choice links above where ads are shown.
• Clear your game data anytime by clearing your browser's site data / localStorage.
• Block cookies in your browser settings (some features may not work).
• For an account or party-room data request, contact us using the email address below. Include the account email or room code if you have it.

Children

The Sites are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above.
